    We have small groups of practitioners to provide effective support, share risk and knowledge, and develop strong co-working relationships. Ratio of frontline staff varies between services but ranges between four and six per manager

    We hold regular group meetings/supervision to enhance both support and challenge, add different perspectives, and to strengthen learning and reflective practice. Frequency and length defined by the particular service to best support delivering outcomes for children and young people.

  • BECAUSE our clinical expertise is easily accessible

    We make sure clinical expertise is easily accessible to  workers and first line managers, through training, coaching, co-working and direct work. We have an in-house clinical service that provides a core offer for all workers and managers and specifically targeted services and approaches.

  • BECAUSE we have dedicated business support

    We have dedicated business support to reduce professional administration time, so workers spend more time with children and families. There is a core offer of support for all workers as well as defined service specific offers directly related to delivering outcomes

  • BECAUSE we have manageable caseloads

    We make sure our Social Workers have manageable caseloads to allow more time for direct work. First line managers are seldom case-holders but do undertake and model best practice. This allows for effective practice by workers but also knowledge and accountability of first line managers.

  • BECAUSE our first line managers are systemically trained in how to support you

    Our first line managers are systemically trained to ensure better quality supervision, assessment, planning and help. This is a core methodology used by all first line managers in group meetings/supervision.

    Our practitioners are trained in core practice approaches. methods and tools to build relationships that positively change. Our Practice Framework describes what we do and how we do it. This model is enabling a flourishing social work culture.

    Working alongside our Modernisation service so we are ready for our move to brand new purpose built accommodation in Queens Road, where all services will be co-located.
